The Dallas Tigers Godwin 12U team played Team Dominican Republic at the "Chick Fil-A Texas vs. The World" Tournament, played at Oak Grove Park in Grapevine, Oct. 25-26.  The Dominicans put up a valiant fight & played some great baseball, but lost to the Tigers 6-1.  After the game, many handshakes, hugs & names were exchanged.   There were also many photos taken to capture the memory, of what for many (if not all) of the boys on both teams, was their first real taste of "International" Baseball.  Later that evening, the Dallas Tigers Godwin Team decided to gather up some of their used but serviceable baseball equipment, and donate it to Team Dominican Republic to use back home.  Diamond Kings Baseball Academy donated a half dozen or more new baseball bats, still in the tubes.  They asked what was in the tubes, not knowing that baseball bats came that way; they'd never seen new bats still in factory packaging.  Many of the players donated used gear bags, bats, and quite a few gloves & mitts.  Team DR was deeply appreciative at the Tigers team's generosity & thoughtfulness.  And now, the Tigers Godwin team has a standing invitation to play in the Dominican Republic next summer!
